Morrissey blasts Prince Harry
Prince Harry has been blasted by pop singer Morrissey. The British royal and the 'This Charming Man' singer were both in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, over the weekend, where the latter told his audience the prince - who was in the country as part of an initiative to promote Britain as a desirable tourist destination - was there to ''take your money''.
According to local newspapers, Morrissey told his audience: ''As you know, Prince Harry is in town. He wants to take your money. Please, don' t give it to him.''
The singer has made his anti-monarchist stance particularly clear recently, with his backing band donning anti-Prince William and Duchess Catherine t-shirts at a gig in Argentina last week.
The 'How soon Is Now?' hitmaker's five backing musicians took to the stage wearing garments depicting William and his wife - who was previously known as Kate Middleton - on their wedding day emblazoned with the caption 'We hate William and Kate'.
The 52-year-old singer also spoke out about the controversy between Argentina and the UK over ownership of the Falkland Islands - where William is currently stationed as part of his work as an RAF search and rescue pilot - as he performed next to an Argentine flag.
He said: ''We all know the Malvinas are Argentina's.''
